Due to the presence of the exhibition "A highway behind the socket" in the Science Museum of Valladolid, Red Eléctrica launched an educational program.

In 2002 the enlargement works of Madrid's Barajas airport began, the new T-4 terminal and two new runways. Said infrastructures were affected by the fact that a part of the 400 kV line (double circuit San Sebastián de los Reyes-Loeches-Morata).

Red Eléctrica, since its founding, has sought to continuously improve the availability of the electricity transmission facilities.

The electricity interconnection between the Spanish peninsula and the Balearic Islands is a project which is key to ensuring and improving the reliability of the electricity supply of the Balearic system given its unique nature.
