The new substation has a switchyard that uses armoured technology (Gas-Insulated Switchgear-GIS) technology and is connected to the Island’s transmission grid, via an underground double circuit line (2,570 meters in length) that connects to the ‘Icod de los Vinos-Cuesta de la Villa’ line, and distribution network.

The construction of this facility and its connection to the grid, which is included in the 2008-2016 Plan for the Electricity and Gas Sectors, has represented an investment of nine million euros.
