A new common regional transparency platform go live

Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE), Red Eléctrica de España (REE), Rede Eléctrica Nacional (REN) and Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable (ONEE), the French, Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan transmission system operators (TSOs), make a decisive step in favor of the transparency of the electricity markets. The four TSOs launch today a new internet platform, dedicated to the publication of interconnections electrical data.

This internet platform (www.iesoe.eu) is the fulfilment of a coordinated transparency project of the four TSOs focusing on the interconnected area between France, Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

The IESOE transparency platform (www.iesoe.eu) gathers relevant information on the capacity and use of interconnections between French, Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan electric systems. It provides, in a coordinated and coherent manner to market participants, and to public at large, an open and free access to this information. Real time data on the usage of the interconnections, as well as long term mechanism, market prices and economic information on the interconnection management will be available on the platform.

This common achievement of TSOs not only does it provide a greater transparency in the region but it also anticipates the forthcoming European regulations on electricity markets transparency.
