Viana do Bolo, star of the second classical music concert in Galicia to mark the 40th anniversary of Red Eléctrica

Red Eléctrica, the Redeia subsidiary responsible for the transmission and operation of the Spanish electricity system, is continuing with its 40th anniversary celebrations in Galicia, this time with the second in a series of classical music concerts held in different parts of the autonomous region. The event is in line with its commitment to territorial development and equal access to culture.

On Saturday, 5 July, at 20.00, the Church of the Assumption in Viana do Bolo (Ourense) will serve as a marvellous setting for the second concert of this tour. Entrance will be free until the venue reaches full capacity.

The Galician Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Rogelio Groba Otero, will perform works by Handel, W. A. Mozart, Edvard Grieg, and Rogelio Groba himself, in a programme that combines universal repertoire with contemporary composition by Galicia’s most prominent and prolific composer.

With over 25 years of experience and international recognition, the Galician Chamber Orchestra is established as one of the leading ensembles in Galicia’s musical scene, demonstrating a strong commitment to cultural outreach and artistic excellence.

This initiative, sponsored by Red Eléctrica, aims not only to bring music to all corners of Galicia but also to highlight the region’s immense historical, artistic, and cultural heritage, revitalising symbolic buildings such as churches, monasteries, and stately homes through sound art.
