The demand for electrical energy grew 0.7% in October

The demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula in the month of October is estimated at 19,866 GWh, a value 0.7% above that registered in the same month last year. After factoring in the seasonal and working patterns, electrical energy demand on the Spanish peninsula grew 1.2% compared to October 2015.

In the first ten months of the year, demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula is estimated at 207,682 GWh, a value 0.2% higher than in the same period in 2015. After having factored in the seasonal and working patterns, demand for electrical energy was 0.1% greater than in the same period last year.

Generation coming from wind power reached 2,388 GWh in October, a value 38,5% lower than in the same month last year, and represented 11.7% of total production.

In the month of October, using provisional data available at 31 October, generation coming from renewable energy sources represented 25.6% of production

50.5% of electricity generation during the month was obtained using technologies which produce zero CO2 emissions.
