Red Eléctrica, included in the Euronext-Vigeo sustainability indexes for the first time

Red Eléctrica de España has been selected to be part of the Euronext-Vigeo sustainability indexes, after the last biannual update released recently. These indexes, launched in 2013 by the New York Stock Exchange recognise the efforts of the most advanced companies in Environmental, Social and corporate Governance matters (ESG).

Specifically, Red Eléctrica has been ranked in the Euronext Vigeo World 120, Euronext-Vigeo Europe 120 and Euronext-Vigeo Eurozone 120 indexes. The three indexes, which are updated every six months, select the top 120 listed companies in the world, Europe and the Eurozone, respectively, noteworthy for their performance in corporate responsibility matters and their contribution to sustainable development.

Vigeo analyses around 330 sustainability indicators for each company based on 38 criteria, including corporate governance and business ethics; commitment to human rights; the fight against corruption; respect for the environment; the recognition of companies’ human capital; stakeholder relations, and the contribution to economic and social development of the communities in which they operate.

The incorporation of Red Eléctrica into the Euronext-Vigeo indexes confirms the Company's engagement with sustainability and its commitment to transparency. It also recognises the excellent performance of the Company in response to major economic, environmental and social challenges, and its contribution to the development of a sustainable energy future.

The inclusion in these three indexes adds to the presence of Red Eléctrica in other reputable sustainability indexes such as FTSE4Good and MSCI ESG family of indexes.
