The Ministry of Industry has honoured a little over one hundred universities, institutions and companies, amongst which is Red Eléctrica de España, for being pioneers in the registry of .es domain names. This event is the kick-off point for the commemorative events of the twenty-fifth anniversary of this domain suffix, which, founded in 1989, has more than 1.7 million registrations.
