Red Eléctrica, world leader in the utilities sector of the FTSE4Good sustainability Index

Red Eléctrica de España has been ranked as the best company in sustainable and socially responsible policies in the utilities sector, according to the FTSE4Good global Index (Financial Times and Stock Exchange Group), which every six months evaluates the best environmental, social, and corporate governance practices.

With an absolute rating of 4.5 out of 5 and a relative score of 100 points out of 100 in its sector, Red Eléctrica again leads the world ranking of companies with best performances in the three standards: working towards environmental sustainability, developing value relationships with stakeholders, and upholding and supporting universal human rights.

The FTSE4Good Index is one of the most prestigious worldwide for investors who recognise that long-term investment in socially responsible practices produce sustained benefits and increase shareholder value.

Since 2008, Red Eléctrica has formed part of this index that, designed to systematically analyse the performance of corporate values, is reviewed every six months by an independent committee of experts in Socially Responsible Investment (SRI).

With this recognition, Red Eléctrica strengthens its reputation to continue developing a policy of transparency and commitment regarding the continuous improvement of its processes and services, and in the pursuit of business excellence as part of its strategic plan that consolidates the Company as a business model integrated into society, attentive to its stakeholders and a reference in the markets where it operates.

Red Eléctrica is also included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) and, last year, received the European Business Award for Excellence in the category "Taking Responsibility for a Sustainable Future" of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
