Red Eléctrica returns to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes after a revision of the results

Red Eléctrica de España has returned to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes World (DJSI World) after the adjustment in the data published today by this entity. In this way, DJSI has reversed its decision to exclude Red Eléctrica from the index, as communicated in its September report.

Today's announced changes shall be effective as of December 17 this year.

Red Eléctrica, which has formed part of this selective group for four consecutive years, obtained a global sustainability rating of 73 points out of 100 in 2010, compared to an average 53 points recorded by utilities in the electricity sector.

The company was leader in its scope for labor practice indicators and reached an outstanding position in the categories representing stakeholders engagement, codes of conduct, social reporting and environmental reporting.
