Redeia receives an international award for promoting open and collaborative innovation among European TSOs
This distinction highlights its role in creating the TSO Innovation Alliance, the pan-European initiative designed to boost innovative solutions for the grid of the future.
As a result, Redeia has been included in the Top 100 Corporate Startup Stars 2025 in the 10th edition of the awards granted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mind the Bridge.
Through its subsidiaries Red Eléctrica and Elewit, the company drives the application of cutting-edge technologies that make the ecological transition possible.
Redeia, parent company of Red Eléctrica and Elewit, has been named one of the Top 100 Corporate Startup Stars (CSS) 2025. This international recognition is awarded by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mind the Bridge to the world’s most active and impactful organisations in open innovation and collaboration with the startup ecosystem. The award ceremony took place yesterday, 2 December, in Paris during the 10th edition of the Corporate Startup Stars.
The distinction is granted to Redeia jointly with the Italian transmission system operator (TSO) Terna, as co-founders of the TSO Innovation Alliance, the largest European open and collaborative innovation initiative among electricity system operators and transmission companies. The Alliance -launched in July 2025 through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding- brings together eight European TSOs with the goal of accelerating the development of solutions that strengthen the resilience, efficiency and sustainability of the continental electricity grid. Its founding members are Red Eléctrica (Spain), Terna (Italy), RTE (France), Swissgrid (Switzerland), Elia Group (Belgium and Germany), TenneT (Netherlands) and Amprion (Germany).
Elewit, Redeia’s technology platform, and Red Eléctrica have worked closely to integrate innovation directly into grid transmission and operation activities in Spain, led by Red Eléctrica. Specifically, Elewit acts as a technological engine that identifies, pilots and scales
solutions in collaboration with startups and technology partners.
Silvia Bruno, Redeia's Chief Innovation & Technology Officer and Elewit’s Chief Innovation & Technology Officer, emphasised: 'This recognition underscores Elewit's commitment to open and collaborative innovation with real impact on the electricity grid. The TSO
Innovation Alliance is a clear example of how, by combining capabilities and vision, we can accelerate the market deployment of technological solutions that bolster the resilience and efficiency of the European electricity system.'
This award positions Elewit and Red Eléctrica among the organisations shaping the global agenda for collaboration between corporations and startups, further consolidating their role as key players in the modernisation and digitalisation of the European electricity system.
