For 40 years, we've been driving our country's economic and social progress. Four decades shaping Spain.
Red Eléctrica has completed its expansion of the Requena 400kV substation and is progressing with the future Platea-Requena line
The company has invested 4.5 million euros in the expansion, which is included in the Platea-Requena line that forms part of the corridor between Aragón and the Valencian Community.
The future line will strengthen the meshing of the transmission grid to ensure the quality and security of the region’s supply.
Red Eléctrica, Redeia's subsidiary responsible for the transmission and operation of the electrical system in Spain, has completed the expansion of the 400 kV Requena substation, a vital step for progress in the Platea-Requena line. When commissioned, it will optimise the grid meshing and reinforce the guaranteed supply for a more sustainable and efficient system.
The expansion of Requena 400 kV represents an investment of 4.5 million euros by Red Eléctrica.
The Platea-Requena section, which is part of the corridor connecting Aragón and the Valencian Community, is currently in administrative processing. With a budget of 86 million euros, its 157 km route runs through the provinces of Teruel, Cuenca and Valencia. The future line will reinforce the 400 kV grid and make the electricity supply more dependable and efficient, decisively strengthening the supply for residents and businesses in the region.
The project is included in the Electric Energy Transmission Grid Development Plan 2021-2026 that was approved by the council of ministers and is a binding commitment for Red Eléctrica.
