Redeia contributes with Pozuelo de Zarzón (Cáceres) to improve its energy efficiency.

Red Eléctrica, Redeia's subsidiary responsible for the operation and transmission of Spain's electricity system, has signed an agreement with the Pozuelo de Zarzón Town Council. This partnership will allow for the deployment of energy efficiency solutions in the area, leading to savings for the municipality’s budget.

Thanks to this collaboration, an aerothermal system will be funded for the care home. It will also be included a set of photovoltaic modules designed to supply electricity to local facilities and street lighting.

This agreement is framed within Redeia's Comprehensive Impact Strategy. With this strategy, the company seeks to create a positive social and environmental impact in the regions where it operates, thereby facilitating the energy transition. Redeia’s manager in Extremadura, Patricia Crego, explained that ‘This type of agreement is shaped by active listening with Town Councils, residents, and social and environmental organisations.’

Red Eléctrica is also building a 400 kV electricity sub-station in Pozuelo de Zarzón, featuring an input and output power line. This facility is aimed at integrating renewable energy and strengthening the Andalucía–Extremadura–Madrid electrical corridor. Nearly eight million euros are being invested in this infrastructure, as part of the over 200 million Red Eléctrica is committing to Extremadura under the existing Electricity Planning.
