Sustainable Development Goals

 

Red Eléctrica, as the sole transmission agent and operator of the Spanish electricity system, holds a key position in the energy sector and, consequently, is a determining factor in the development of a sustainable energy future.

In this regard, the activities of the Company contribute mainly to the achievement of the following SDGs:

  • 7. Affordable and clean energy
  • 9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
  • 13. Climate action

The design of the 2030 Sustainability Commitment of the Red Eléctrica Group has taken into account the targets set by the Sustainable Development Goals, so that the Group’s sustainability priorities contribute significantly to the achievement of the SDGs. In this regard, the actions derived from the Commitment increase the contribution of the Red Eléctrica Group to the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

In 2009 we launched the Red Eléctrica Forest, a project that contributes to the fight against climate change through the planting of trees and, at the same time, the conservation of a natural area rich in biodiversity or the recovery of a degraded natural area. See more
