Study of the impact of electricity lines on the resident birds in the eastern Canary Islands

Quantifying the impact that electricity lines owned by REE has on bird populations in the eastern Canary Islands.

Geographic scope: 

Fuerteventura and Lanzarote (Canary Islands)

Results: 
  • Survey and study of the HV electricity lines owned by Red Eléctrica: 34 km in Lanzarote and 98 km in Fuerteventura; plus 58 km of distribution lines and 28 km of telephone lines on both islands.
