Promotion of sport through FUNDAL (Madrid)

Collaboration with local government to promote social well-being. Support for environmental, cultural and sports activities.

Red Eléctrica is committed to the local communities where its facilities are located by collaborating on actions that contribute to improving the well-being of people and their municipalities, and through support for the protection of basic needs, promotion of sport and healthy habits and the preservation of their culture.

Red Eléctrica renewed its annual collaboration in 2018 and participated in the Sport for People with Disabilities programme, which organised activities so that everyone can practise sports as a form of social inclusion and as a step towards integration. Other programmes in which Red Eléctrica participated were:

  • UNICEF-FUNDAL Alliance: activities aimed at fostering children’s rights and promoting sport as a tool for social inclusion and education for development.
  • Educar Deportivamente (Education through Sport): actions linked to promoting Olympic values through sport.
  • Deporte y Salud para Mayores (Sport and Health for Senior Citizens): projects aimed at improving muscle tone and combating diseases such as osteoporosis and heart failure, as well as preventing psychological problems.

Red Eléctrica has been contributing since 2001 in promoting sport in the town of Alcobendas (Madrid) and supporting the Alcobendas Sports Foundation’s (FUNDAL) projects as part of its social programmes, especially those aimed at sport for integration and education. Red Eléctrica participates as a benefactor of the following social programmes: UNICEF-FUNDAL Alliance, Education through Sport, Sport and Health for Senior Citizens, and Sport for People with Disabilities.
