The demand for electrical energy increases 0.2% in June

The demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula in the month of June, after having factored in the seasonal and working patterns, grew 0.2% with respect to the same month last year. Gross demand for the month was 20,300 GWh, a value 3.6% up on the figure for June 2014.

In the first half of the year, after having factored in the seasonal and working patterns, consumption was 0.5% higher than that of last year. The gross demand in this period was 123,460 GWh, 1.9% more than in the same period last year.

Production coming from wind power during this month reached 2,889 GWh, 11.8% down on the same period last year, and represented 14.1% of the total production.

In the month of June, generation coming from renewable energy sources reached 35.9% of production.

52.5% of electricity generation during the month was obtained using technologies which produce zero CO2 emissions.
