Red Eléctrica confirms its commitment to reduce emissions of SF6 greenhouse gases
The General Manager of Transmission for Red Eléctrica de España, Carlos Collantes has ratified the Company's commitment to reduce sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), one of the greenhouse gases (GHG) used in electrical power equipment, by the voluntary signing of an agreement with the Secretary of State for the Environment (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment), Federico Ramos and seven electricity utility companies. With this agreement, the signatories commit to the proper management of this GHG at the end of the useful life of those pieces of electrical equipment that use SF6. They have also agreed to set up a working group to monitor this commitment.
