Thanks to an agreement signed in 2013 between Red Eléctrica de España (REE) and the local town council of Villamayor de Gállego in the Zaragoza area, its two thousand year old juniper tree (“La Sabina de Villamayor”) today enjoys very good health, as work has been completed to stop the degradation and deterioration of its environment, which included pruning and cleaning up of nearby trees, as well as the planting of native species.
