The Chairman of Red Eléctrica de España, José Folgado, has pointed out that energy in Spain is a "limiting factor for our economic development" due to "our high energy dependence", which reached 70.6% in 2012. Mr. Folgado made these statements during his participation in the IX Conference of the Spanish Association for Energy Economics (AEEE), entitled "Energy and economic competitiveness".
