For 40 years, we've been driving our country's economic and social progress. Four decades shaping Spain.
Red Eléctrica has completed the expansion of the 400 kV Pesoz substation to boost renewable integration and strengthen supply in Western Asturias
The project involved developing a new 400 kV line that connects to the Sanzo III substation.
Red Eléctrica has invested nearly 2 million euros in this key facility, which helps boost the ecological transition and reinforce the power supply in the western area of Asturias.
Red Eléctrica, Redeia’s subsidiary responsible for the operation and transmission of the Spanish electricity system, has completed the expansion of the 400 kV Pesoz substation. The project also involved the construction of the 400 kV Pesoz–Sanzo III line, which will supply power to the Sanzo distribution substation.
These facilities are part of a set of actions by the company that are aimed at further improving the quality of the electricity supply in the western area of Asturias and promoting the ecological transition by integrating new renewable energy generation projects.
These initiatives also strengthen the Pesoz substation's role as a critical hub in the Asturian transmission grid and its connection to Galicia.
Red Eléctrica has invested nearly 2 million euros to expand one of the substation's bays and to construct the 400 kV Pesoz Sanzo III line. The actions are part of the current Electricity Transmission Grid Planning and align with one of its guiding principles: maximising the use of the transmission grid and existing facilities to minimise environmental impact.
