Demand for electrical energy increases 0.2% in November
  • Wind power, with 21.6% of the total, has been the leading generation technology in this month.
  • In the cumulative total for 2018, demand for electricity increased by 0.9% year-on-year.

The demand for electrical energy on the Spanish peninsula in the month of November was 20,939 GWh, a value 0.2% higher than that registered in the same month last year. After factoring in the influence of the seasonal and working patterns, electrical energy demand on the peninsula fell by 0.8% compared to November 2017.

In the eleven months of 2018, the demand for electricity on the Spanish Peninsula is estimated at 232,337 GWh, a value 0.9% higher than in 2017 year-on-year. After factoring in the influence of the seasonal and working patterns, demand for electricity is 0.8% higher when compared to the same period last year.

Generation coming from wind power in the month of November reached 4,578 GWh, a value 15.7% higher than the same month last year, and represented 21.6% of total production.

Generation coming from renewable energy sources represented 35.4% of total production in the month of November.

54.1% of electricity generation during the month was obtained using technologies that do not emit CO2.
