Red Eléctrica de España has renewed the EFQM European Seal of Excellence 500+ and consolidates its commitment to excellence in management by being part of the select group of 94 Spanish entities that have this seal and one of the three organisations that exceed a score above 700 points in Spain.
The Chairman of the Company, José Folgado, today received the corresponding certificate from the General Secretary/CEO of the Excellence in Management Club, Ignacio Babé, as the official representative in Spain of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
Red Eléctrica obtains this distinction following an organisation-wide assessment conducted by the company SGS, in which the Company has improved its score with respect to the previous assessment, and which has highlighted a positive evolution in all the ‘enablers’ criteria on which the management approaches of the EFQM Model are based: leadership, strategy, people management, partnerships & resources, and processes, products and services.
The commitment to excellence has become the managerial objective of the Company and the strategic axis of its business management. The results obtained consolidate Red Eléctrica as a sustainable, ethical company and responsible in the performance and execution of its activities and a benchmark in the markets in which it operates.
Identified with excellence
Red Eléctrica adopted the EFQM model in 1999. In 2003 it obtained the highest level of recognition with the EFQM European Seal of Excellence 500+, improving its score in successive assessments and exceeding 700 points both in 2015 and in this latest assessment.
The EFQM European Seal of Excellence 500+ is the highest level of recognition awarded by the Excellence in Management Club (Club Excelencia en Gestión) and distinguishes organisations that have a strategy geared towards excellence in a sustained manner.
The Chairman of Red Eléctrica, José Folgado, congratulated the Excellence in Management Club "for the magnificent work it is doing, in Spain and Europe, in promoting the principles of business excellence as a way to improve the competitiveness of companies." On the other hand, he highlighted Red Eléctrica Group's firm commitment to excellence in management and results. “Without a doubt, that has been, is and will be our main goal, from an ethical, sustainable and commitment to society point of view", he added.
Ignacio Babé, Secretary General/CEO of the Excellence in Management Club stated that "it is an honour to have Red Eléctrica de España as a member of the Club for 26 years, demonstrating its commitment to and backing for the values of business excellence. It is one of the first organisations that undertook the commitment to obtain the EFQM Seal and the path followed is reflected in the score obtained in the latest external assessment, being one of the only three organisations in Spain with a score higher than 700 points".
