From the start, the implementation of the best possible corporate governance practices has been a firm, determined and priority concern for Red Eléctrica. Besides the legal provisions in effect and the common recommendations in this area, Red Eléctrica has voluntarily implemented a number of steps and procedures to meet the more significant questions, which are rightfully a source of concern for our shareholders.
Since 1999, when Red Eléctrica was listed for the first time in the Stock Exchange, a number of steps for corporate governance have been implemented to achieve increased effectiveness, transparency, independence, representation, safety and quality of the utility governing bodies operations. These efforts have prompted the Utility to a leadership position in corporate governance.
