Occupational Health and Safety Policy
All the companies in the Red Eléctrica Group have the OHSAS 18001 certification.
The Red Eléctrica Group acknowledges that minimizing risks, of any type, associated to both people and facilities during the carrying out of its activities, is a strategic objective regarding occupational health and safety. Therefore, the necessary organisation and systems must be available at all times, in accordance with current legislation. All the companies in the Red Eléctrica Group have the OHSAS 18001 certification as a tool that guarantees the appropriate implementation of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
The principles on which the Occupational Health and Safety Policy are based are the following:
- The commitment and leadership of the management team.
- Facilitating the involvement and participation of all related stakeholders in the fulfilment of the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.
In coherence with these principles, the Red Eléctrica Group undertakes the following commitments regarding occupational health and safety matters:
- Provide the people employed with the adequate degree of occupational health and safety, by means of the prevention of work-related injuries, ailments, diseases and incidents. Occupational health and safety, under its wider concept, is understood as the physical, mental and social well-being of the people, considering the legal, labour and technological framework.
- Integrate occupational health and safety into all the hierarchic levels and activities, in agreement with the current legislation and the commitments undertaken by the company.
- Guarantee the fulfilment of the applicable legal requirements regarding occupational health and safety matters.
- Provide all personnel with the working equipment and means for personal and collective safety, necessary to carry out work under safe conditions.
- Maintain the adequate training and qualification of the people regarding the occupational health and safety risks associated to their work position so that they may safely carry out the work activities associated to their job.
- Promote the participation and consultation of employees in management elements regarding occupational health and safety.
- Maintain the certification of the management system, through the continuous improvement of employee performance and of the occupational health and safety management system.
