SSL-0018/2005 Certificate, according to the OHSAS 18001:1999 standard

The granting of this certificate in 2002 represents the recognition of efficient management by Red Eléctrica of its Occupational Health and Safety Management system.

This certification is concerned with the organisational structure, planning of activities, responsibilities, practices, procedures, processes and resources necessary to develop, implement, review and maintain an Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

This certification contemplates that:

A system has been implemented to eliminate or minimize risks associated with its activities.
There is a process for continuous improvement of the system.
The compliance with the established Occupational Health and Safety Policy is assured.

Red Eléctrica has adopted the framework proposed by OHSAS 18001: 1999 as it considers that this standard:

Has a scope that covers the guidelines, principles and aims embraced by the Company in this field.
Is compatible with the currently certified systems.
Is sufficiently tested and is a valid reference for the electricity sector both domestically and internationally.

This certification includes all Red Eléctrica's activities and facilities and it is the first electricity company in Spain to obtain this certificate.
