Quality Management System
For Red Eléctrica, quality means the design and execution of its processes and products in accordance with standards orientated towards the quest for excellence in its management with the objective of achieving the satisfaction of its stakeholders.
The Quality Management System implemented in Red Eléctrica and certified by AENOR in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard, allows the requirements of its customers, and other interested parties to be identified and satisfied, so as to obtain, maintain and improve the performance of the whole organisation.
The basic principles of the Quality Management Policy are:
- Encourage people to be aligned with the mission, vision and strategy of the companies of the Group.
- Enhance the human factor, particularly as quality can only be achieved through communication, active participation and teamwork by all members of the Group.
- Achieve customer satisfaction through improvements in processes and products.
- Guide the Group towards excellence and continuous improvement, through the identification of opportunities for improvement and by the implementation of the corresponding action plans.
- Seek quality leadership in all companies of the Group in their scope of activity, through the application of internationally recognised excellence evaluation models.
- Monitor results through measurable indicators regarding company products and processes, through the design and monitoring of the pertenant indicators.
- Enhance senior management's leadership through its commitment to the development and implementation of Quality Management Systems.
Participation in external organisations
Red Eléctrica is involved in the acceptance, dissemination and implementation of quality in the Spanish business world. The principal activities in which it participates are:
- It is a co-founder of the Quality Management Club [ www.clubcalidad.es
] and collaborates on the design of methodologies related to quality.
- It forms part of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification [ www.aenor.es
] and participates in working groups on standards.
- It collaborates on the training of graduates in the field of quality as part of the Master's degree imparted at the Carlos III University and at the EOI Spain's School of Industrial Organization (Escuela de Organización Industrial) [ www.eoi.es
].
- It forms part of the Spanish Quality Association [ www.aec.es
] and provides knowledge for the work carried out by this organisation in development and improvement of the energy sector.
