With the aim of explaining to the public how electricity is manifested, produced and transported, how the systems are operated, and in general what happens from the moment when electricity is generated until it reaches our houses, Red Eléctrica created a travelling exhibition to tour a number of museums all over Spain.
The exhibition, named "A Motorway behind the Wall Socket: electricity from the power station to your house," is interactive, occupies around 300 square metres and has 20 modules distributed into three areas: what electricity is, generation and transport. It shows elements of Red Eléctrica's everyday work, featuring both old museum pieces and modern-day cables, bird protectors, beacons, insulators and switches.
