Support for education

Red Eléctrica wants to forge a close relationship with educational centres in order to give a simple explanation of how the Spanish electrical system works and the functions it is assigned as the operator of this system and the manager of the electricity transport grid. With this purpose, we are setting in motion an educational programme with contents that can help educators in the scientific, technical and cultural training of students at different educational levels.

Red Eléctrica presents the exhibition "A highway behind the wall socket": an interactive journey which invites you to participate, experiment and discover the electricity. This exhibition has several sections: the first section is dedicated to the physical principles of electricity, the second section explains the electricity supply process and, in the third section, the visitor, as a citizen and as a consumer, becomes the protagonist. Through various interactive exhibits you can find out how we consume electricity and the effect our consumption habits have on the whole system. In addition, you will find some ideas on different ways to consume more efficiently and responsibly.

The first initiative of the educational programme was the Play Controla game, an interactive electrical control simulator where Secondary Education students adopt the role of operators of the Electrical Control Centre (CECOEL). This programme also offers teachers and students of different training cycles other support materials such as the virtual tour of the CECOEL, videos, animated graphics, etc.

If you would like to receive information about the programme, please send an e-mail to the address educacion@ree.es, indicating the details of your educational centre.
