Leaders in sustainability
Red Eléctrica obtains the RobecoSAM Gold Class award

The Red Eléctrica Group has been the only company in the Electric Utilities sector that has obtained the Gold Class award in the Sustainability Yearbook, a report prepared by the rating agency RobecoSAM, which recognises companies with best practices in corporate responsibility matters.

This award highlights the commitment of the Red Eléctrica Group to sustainability as a key tool for achieving its long-term goals, and does so by linking sustainability directly to its business strategy.

Red Eléctrica's commitment is based on a business model capable of responding to the challenges of the future and based on criteria of excellence, innovation and transparency, in order to make the activity of the Group compatible with caring for the environment and the generation of shared value through alliances with its business and social environment.

In this edition, Red Eléctrica has achieved one of the 73 Gold Class awards and has been the only company to achieve this category in the Electric Utilities sector. This year RobecoSAM has also awarded 78 Silver and 118 Bronze awards, with Europe being the region with the largest number of companies included in the Yearbook and with the highest number of Gold awards.

RobecoSAM only grants this award to those companies that stand out for their advanced social, environmental and corporate governance performance in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, which in its latest edition recognised Red Eléctrica as the world leader in the Utilities sector.
