The Red Eléctrica Group has been recognised as the best company in the world in sustainability in the Electric Utilities sector by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), achieving an overall score of 93 points; a score which has also helped it reach the leading position in the Utilities supersector, which encompasses the electricity, gas and water sectors.
The Spanish group has reached the maximum score, 100 out of 100 points, in 12 of the 23 criteria evaluated by the DJSI, highlighting the Company's policies on climate change, biodiversity, innovation, human capital development, corporate citizenship, stakeholder management, labour practices and code of conduct. Also, the maximum score was obtained for the following criteria: environmental policy and management, environmental reporting, transmission and distribution, and social reporting.
This recognition confirms the commitment of the Red Eléctrica Group to sustainability and its direct contribution to the achievement of overall targets at a global level, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations. In addition, the Company consolidates itself as a socially responsible investment reference in international markets.

The Company's commitment to sustainability, a pillar that is key to its strategy, is reflected in the development and implementation of a business model based on best environmental, social, ethical and good governance practices and which integrates innovation as a lever for growth and the improvement of sustainability.

La compañía actualizó en mayo su compromiso en la lucha contra el cambio climático con la renovación del Plan de Acción 2015-2020-2030 adaptándolo al nuevo panorama internacional y aprobó el Plan de Acción 2017-2021 de biodiversidad, ambos principios básicos de su política ambiental.
The Company updated its commitment to the fight against climate change in May with the renewal of the 2015-2020-2030 Action Plan, adapting it to the new international scenario and approved its 2017-2021 Action Plan to biodiversity, two of the essential pillars of its environmental policy.
